Hi there! I am Horror Game Analysis (she / her), a woman that likes video games and writes about them. And analyzes them. And plays them all the time. And writes them. And codes them.

I’m fascinated by narratives in video games. How fascinated, you may ask? Fascinated enough to become a game studies academic, ha-ha, what a crazy lady, they say! I am interested in how they influence the player as they experience the story through not just traditional narrative but level design, game mechanics, and atmosphere. My goal is to develop games that shape the player and expose them to thoughtful new ideas, new ways of thinking about the world, or just share my pervasive distress with everyone and make it everyone else’s problem, yay!

For those wondering, my favourite game genres are survival horror, visual novels, dating sims, and platformers. My favourite games are Pathologic, Silent Hill, The Void, Slay the Princess, The Age of Decadence, In Stars and Time, Silent Hill 2, Silent Hill 3, Scarlet Hollow, and Money for Girls: Amortized.

I love surreal horror and deeply human stories. I have made it my mission to analyze and decrypt how video games haunt, disturb, reoccur in dreams, and make me cry and sob into my keyboard.
