Hi there everyone!

It’s been a long year (again), and I think at the end of it, I can look back on it and be exceedingly proud of everything I’ve managed to pull off and release at the end of it. Frankly, I didn’t think it could be done at some points. I pushed myself hard to balance everything together, and then COVID basically forced me to take a rest. Which, probably, was a good thing – though it did slow down my planned release schedule.

For next year, I want to do much the same as I did in 2023. So that means:

Six video essays (one every two months at the bare minimum)

Twenty six blog posts (one every two weeks)

One+ video review

I can’t yet commit to any streams, as I don’t know what my schedule is going to look like exactly compared to 2023. However, I have a current shortlist of games I want to play on stream, presented in no particular order:

I think I discovered that while I really enjoyed playing Yakuza, I think that whenever I get the chance to stream, it should be horror-related, at least in some way, or have writing that I can comment on. As fun as Yakuza is (and as much as I play it in my own free time), I think I’ve found that since I have a limited number of hours with which to stream, and a very busy schedule, I should stream stuff that appeals most not only to myself but to people who have already tuned in.

Everything I’ve done over the last year has been a joy. There’s been highs and lows, of course, but this YouTube / Twitch experience has been very rewarding. There’s a large learning curve – I’m basically teaching myself everything – but I’m enjoying the process. Sound balancing is finally something I understand 🙂

The feedback I received has been heartwarming and has kept me going, even when my energy levels threatened to give out. I always managed to find more motivation in the end to make something I was proud of. Thanks to everyone who watched, and to everyone who subsequently enjoyed what I worked really hard on. I plan to make my videos appear more professional next year, using everything I’ve learned to make even better videos.

Whew! What a year! Where it went, I’m not sure… it felt like just yesterday I was combing carefully through my backlog, playing Alan Wake and Mundaun. Now I’m tired but motivated to produce the last thing of the year, and scanning through lists of games that I could buy to play in 2024.

Fingers crossed I’ll be able to pull off a miracle and release something on New Year’s Eve, but we’ll see what happens. There’s not enough hours in the day!
