the fear of blood tends to create fear for the flesh

In the effort of keeping up to date with all the hottest new games, I’m going to attempt to write one article a week on the 1999 PlayStation One horror game, Silent Hill. I do this in an attempt to reflect on what Silent Hill gets right, even today in 2021 (an astonishing 22 years on), as well as identify areas that modern day horror developers could either really do with adopting in their own game, iterating on top of, or perhaps there are some areas that Silent Hill does drop the ball, and we should be glad to be done with.

I’ll be properly starting the series next week (in that I will have caught up to where I’m up to after the next post, which is going up concurrently), trying to play through the game in chunks while taking notes, and then making an analysis article out of the notes or thoughts I have about the game.

Guess we should start with the theme music to get everyone into the mood? (all three people who’ve ever visited my blog, anyway :D)
