Recently I have been thinking about what kinds of games I should play for the rest of the year on stream. My rough plan still remains somewhat the same as I outlined in my roadmap at the end of last year.

However, simply looking at general engagement, Amnesia: Rebirth has fared much worse than, say, Lake Haven: Chrysalis. I think, to a certain degree, it is also less interesting. Whether it is the game’s general lack of shocking elements or wonky story (that felt overly harsh to write – I am enjoying parts of Amnesia: Rebirth very much, and overall I am enjoying it much more than say Outlast) or the fact it is already such a famous and well-known game, there is an obvious lack of interest from a subset of people who watch my archived streams. But I am still hopeful that it has some punches left to throw, and that there are some things coming up that will shock and surprise me (and all of you)!
But I guess I just wanted to gauge a general response in this short post: should I be seeking out more niche and indie games and spotlighting them rather than playing bigger, more well-known titles? That is the sense I am getting just from what games I am currently enjoying playing myself. I will certainly keep playing the Pathologics and the Silent Hills, and definitely keep making video essays on larger games when inspiration strikes – but I think after Amnesia: Rebirth is done I might tip away from larger games in search of more novel experiences that others might not otherwise get a chance to play.

I don’t want that to replace what I do want to play. I’ll probably play the Silent Hill 2 remake on stream, for instance, and I do still want to run through a few of the Resident Evils, for instance. Maybe I will still pick up the upcoming Amnesia: The Bunker too. I guess this muddle of a post is really just looking for some general community input – what would people be more interested in seeing? I’m probably happy to play just about any kind of horror game. Let me know what you’re enjoying and what you want to see more of! I still want to stream what I want to of course, but would be great to know what other people would find fun too.
